Difficulty starting vacuum

Question: What are the reasons for difficulty in starting a vacuum pump?

Answer:

  1. Foreign objects entering the pump:Solution - Flush with water or dismantle the pump for thorough inspection and cleaning.
  2. Power supply failure:Solution - Check for power outage or phase loss.
  3. Too tight gland pressing:Solution - Loosen the bolts of the gland pressing cover, start the pump, and slowly tighten the cover bolts until there is a slight water leakage.
  4. Scaling or rust:Solution - Soak in acid solution to remove scale and rust.
  5. Excessive working fluid:Solution - Adjust the working fluid until the pump can start.

Vacuum pump has low vacuum degree

Question:What are the reasons for a vacuum pump having a low vacuum degree?

Answer:

  1. Low working fluid flow rate:Solution - Increase the working fluid flow rate while monitoring motor current.
  2. High working fluid temperature:Solution - Reduce the working fluid temperature.
  3. Slight system leakage:Solution - Check for leaks, pressurize, and repair the vacuum pump if leaks are detected.
  4. Excessive pump clearance:Solution - Disassemble for maintenance, machine to a reasonable clearance range, and reassemble.
  5. Seal leakage:Solution - Replace the seals with new ones.
  6. Damaged exhaust valve plates:Solution - Replace with new exhaust valve plates.
  7. Undersized pump model:Solution - Replace with a larger vacuum pump model.

Vacuum pump vibration noise

Question:What are the possible reasons for vacuum pump vibration noise?

Answer:

  1. Severe cavitation:Solution - Install cavitation protection device.
  2. High working fluid flow rate:Solution - Reduce the working fluid flow rate.
  3. Improper installation of the coupling or pulley: Solution - Recheck the installation dimensions of the coupling or pulley.
  1. Loose foundation bolts: Solution - Tighten the foundation bolts.
  1. Impeller corrosion or scaling causing imbalance: Solution - Clean impeller scaling or replace with a new impeller.

Vacuum pump has no vacuum

Question: What could be the reasons for a vacuum pump having no vacuum?

Answer:

  1. Incorrect motor rotation direction: Solution - Replace the motor and adjust the two wires to the correct optional direction.
  1. No working fluid entering the vacuum pump: Solution - Check if the working fluid valve is unblocked and if any liquid enters the vacuum pump.
  1. Severe air leakage in the system: Solution - Check if there are any bypasses open in the vacuum pump suction pipe.

Motor tripped or overloaded

Question: What are the possible reasons for the motor tripping or overloading?

Answer:

  1. Short circuit in the motor winding:Solution - Check the motor windings.
  2. Excessive flow rate of working fluid:Solution - Adjust the working fluid inlet valve to reduce the flow rate.
  3. High exhaust pressure:Solution - Reduce the exhaust pressure to the specified range.
  4. Presence of excessive liquid in the sucked-in gas:Solution - Install a gas-liquid separator at the inlet of the vacuum pump.

Vacuum pump bearing overheating

Question: What could be the reasons for vacuum pump bearing overheating?

Answer:

  1. Belt too tight: Solution - Loosen the belt sufficiently to its normal state.
  2. Misalignment between the vacuum pump and the motor: Solution - Realign the vacuum pump with the motor.
  3. Insufficient or excessive lubricating oil: Solution - Improve lubrication conditions.
  4. Improper installation of bearings:Solution - Reinstall the bearings properly.
  5. Bearing wear, rust, or damage: Solution - Replace the bearings with new ones.
